PVC SG-3 is a type of polyvinyl chloride resin, belonging to the general-purpose resin category with high polymerization degree and relatively large molecular weight. Its main characteristic is high strength, but it also poses relatively greater processing difficulties.
The "3" in SG-3 represents the degree of polymerization grade, with a lower number indicating a higher degree of polymerization. According to the national standard GB/T5761-93, suspension PVC is classified into SG-1 to SG-8. The degree of polymerization of SG-3 is approximately 1300, which is higher than the commonly seen SG-5 (approximately 1000). Therefore, it has better mechanical strength, but its melt flow is relatively difficult, and the processing temperature needs to be appropriately increased
Main performance and usage
Core characteristics: The SG-3 molecular chain is long, making the surface of the product prone to exhibit a strong matte or dull effect. It has high extinction, making it suitable for decorative components such as anti-slip boards and matte films.
Typical applications: It can be used for both hard products such as hard plates, pipes, records, and welding rods, and soft products such as cable materials, hoses, shoe materials, agricultural films, and artificial leather, with a relatively wide range of applications.
Basic physical properties: The viscosity number is generally between 135-127 mL/g, the apparent density is ≥0.42 g/mL, the volatile matter content is ≤0.40%, and the residual vinyl chloride monomer content is ≤10 ppm
